Tracking The Effectiveness Of Your Sales Funnel Strategy

Sales funnel is one of the terms you will need to be familiar with if you’re an internet marketer. A sales funnel is a collection of marketing strategies that result in a sale, and possibly recurring sales. To create a sales funnel, you will need to come up with a marketing campaign that will drive customers to your site.

Some typical sales opportunities used to build many internet marketing sales funnels include special reports, ebooks and autoresponder courses. Because you have many options as far as starting the sales process is concerned, you need to track which avenue will work for you.

Test and track various advertising options to evaluate not only which methods drive the most traffic to your site but which methods result in the most opt-ins and conversions. For instance, PPC may only be effective in increasing pageviews but not leads. Another example is your social media marketing efforts have a lower click through rate but an outstanding opt-in or conversion rate. If you can track which methods convert the most, your marketing strategy can be tweaked further.

Don’t be afraid of experimenting with various alternatives as far as marketing is concerned. Give one strategy a deadline and cut your losses when it’s not performing well. There was a time when banner ads and newsletter advertising were the only way to go. But now that the best advertising alternatives are within our reach budget-wise, it’s easier to test out several options.

One of the most crucial aspects of building a sales funnel is making sure that you’re dangling the right carrot. You cannot begin to build a well-oiled sales funnel if your front end offer is lame. Maybe your target customers cannot afford your price? Maybe you need to build your credibility more?

Whatever it is that you find out about your marketing methods through testing, you can modify your marketing strategy accordingly. Testing the success of a marketing campaign can save you a lot of time and effort (not to mention money) in the long run.

When prospects convert into customers, your job isn’t over yet. You can still market to your old customers. On this level of your sales funnel, you will start feeling complacent. Don’t.. You need to find out which other products will appeal to the customers that already bought something from you. You can get your previous customers to fill out surveys. You can even test bonus products.
